Spectrum provides the shortest commute to work
Azeem Siddiq must have one of the shortest commutes to work in Manchester. For the 25-year-old has rented a apartment at Greengate, just 30 yards from his shop.
Minutes from Deansgate and Exchange Square
Set under the railway arches, just a few minutes walk from Deansgate and Exchange Square, the young entrepreneur has set up a successful new mini-market. And he doesn’t mind the long hours as much as he simply has to cross the road to get back to his two bedroom apartment at Spectrum.
Azeem explained, “I had a look at this development when I bought the shop at the beginning of the year, I thought it would be really convenient for work. I rent a two bedroom apartment with a corner balcony, which is absolutely fantastic in the summer.
‘I really like the way it’s a great little community here, and everyone knows me from the shop.”
Azeem, who is originally from Heywood, found the arch space in January but spent six months fitting it out. With the recently installed computers for internet access, the shop is becoming the local community hub. This has been really popular for Spectrum residents without broadband.
And the ambitious youngster has more plans in store; as he wants to incorporate a dry-cleaning service and turn the spacious back of the building into a coffee shop where residents and workers can linger over a cuppa.
Spectrum is a great location
Vicky McCarrick, Associate Director of Sales & Lettings at Dandara, said: ‘It’s great for us to know that someone enjoys their work so much, they want to live right nextdoor! Spectrum is a great location, close to Manchester’s busy and bustling city centre, but tucked away so that residents can enjoy the communal gardens and balconies in peace and quiet. The best of both worlds!'
“Azeem’s shop is the perfect complement to this development, as it means that residents can pop out for a pint of milk or a bottle of wine whenever they want.”

Spectrum has five blocks of beautifully designed homes for sale and rent. In fact, the scheme won the Best Apartment Award at Manchester Evening News Property Awards and was highly commended at the Telegraph Your New Home Awards as well as recieving Best Starter Home at the What House Awards, which is a fantastic stamp of approval.

Spectrum’s courtyard shape means that each apartment has either an external view or a garden view, depending on your preference.

Ideal for friends sharing an apartment
The new Concept layout means that the apartment has been designed and tested to ensure residents get the most out of their new home. They are ideal for two friends sharing because each bedroom is on either side of the living room, so there’s no chance of hearing your roommate snoring! There is an en-suite in the master bedroom, while the second bedroom has its own access to the main bedroom – ideal for two friends getting ready for a night out together. One of the most appealing aspects about the Concept apartment is that the hallway has been removed to make sure all of the living space is used, making a light and airy room.
